Restoring Your Smile

Though dental emergencies can be scary, we offer dental services in our office to quickly restore damaged or lost teeth and help you start healing quickly. Before and during these procedures, patients are given local anesthesia and other sedation options to make the experiences as comfortable and relaxing as possible. Your dental emergency may require one of the following procedures:

  • Root Canal Therapy: The inner part of your tooth (or “pulp”) contains soft tissues such as blood vessels, connective tissues, and nerve endings. In the event of a significant trauma to a tooth, the delicate pulp may be permanently damaged. However, the good news is that you can maintain your natural tooth through a procedure called a root canal. Dr. Michael will remove the pulp and clean and prep the tooth to be filled with a durable, rubber-like material. A temporary dental crown is placed until a final crown can be securely placed over the tooth.
  • Dental Extractions: If the damaged or infected tooth cannot be saved through a root canal treatment, Dr. Michael may perform a dental extraction. The tooth will be removed from the jaw, and the opening in the gum will be stitched closed. A recovery period is necessary after an extraction before dental implants or other tooth replacement options are placed.
  • Dental CrownsFor fractured or broken teeth that have not experienced damage to the pulp, Dr. Michael may place a temporary dental crown to protect the inner tooth from oral bacteria or other particles. The natural tooth is filed and shaped to provide a base for the final crown. Acting as a type of cap, the dental crown fits neatly over the natural tooth and will be custom-colored and shaped to blend in with your natural smile.
